I started volunteering here in January and quickly fell in love with our community’s mission to make food access welcoming and equitable. I’m grateful to step into the site coordinator role and look forward to learning, giving back, and supporting our wonderful volunteers and neighbors.

My journey with Don’t Go Hungry began during COVID as a client at Knox Church. Inspired by the care I received, I started giving back as a volunteer helper, transitioned into intake registration, and eventually stepped up into the site coordinator role. Having volunteered here for over four years, I’m deeply grateful for the chance to support our community and work alongside such a dedicated team.

Having first connected with Don’t Go Hungry as a client, I joined the volunteer team in late 2022 to give back to the community that supported me. Today, as a site coordinator at our Sapperton location, I’m grateful for the opportunity to work alongside our incredible volunteers to ensure our neighbors have dependable, dignified access to fresh groceries.

Our community is better because of the work of organizations like DGH. While volunteering since 2021, I have seen DGH change lives via food distribution, volunteer opportunities, and community-building.
